Mikhail Gavrichkov

Born in Leningrad, USSR in 1963.
  
Graduated from the Graphic Art Faculty of the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in Leningrad in 1987.
 
Painter, graphic artist, creator of ex-libris and inventive sculptural assemblages. Participated in international congresses for ex-libris designers in the Czech Republic (1996), Russia (1998) and the USA (1999). Taught drawing, composition, etching, and linocut printmaking at St Petersburg’s Herzen State Pedagogical University in 1996–2000. Awarded grants by the Foundation of the Trustees of the Mariinsky Theatre in 1995 and by the Foundation of the President of Russia in 1997. Has taken part in more than 120 exhibitions in Russia and abroad, of which 18 have been solo exhibitions. Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia.

His works can be found in the collections of the State Hermitage Museum, the Russian National Library, Cambridge University Library (Boston, USA), the Museum of Playing Cards (France), and the Museum of Erotica (Switzerland), as well as in private collections in Russia, the UK, Germany, Holland, Italy and the USA.
